Can't help but this game looks like a Crysis rip-off :-[

Yeah, if you squint your eyes you can kind of see a tropical island, nanosuits, "pew pew pew!"-laser guns, short-sighted north koreans, a giant alien spacecraft and flying robot-monsters there somewhere... wait what? ;D

I was talking gameplay rather than content. Thing like soldiers standing in the open unnoticed and the player running around like rambo making me believe he has god mode on when he ultimately dies at the point when the lead in his body would have tripled his weight.

I dont know what videos your watching, because Im seeing a guy running aroung from cover to cover, moving tactically and dying as soon as he gets shot.

Im subscribed to their newsletters and I have to say that I was a incouraged to read some "bad" previews by some COD fans that say that they don't like the game since it's too unforgiving. They have complained about "being shot and not knowing where from" and "getting shot immediately after moving out of cover". I was glad to have read that, maybe this game will be worth something after all?

Naturally the AI will be less forgiving on PC. I'm quite sure I read somewhere you can die from a single hit in OFPDR. Anyhow, I would rather take a damage system where you might get lucky and stay conscious after a few rounds to the torso than one where you die instantly when someone snipes your big toe off. If the game is as moddable as OFP, it would be a very simple modification to alter the soldiers health points or bullet damage values, and AI reaction speed, eye-sight, hearing etc. OFPDR will use Lua so that's a good sign, unless it's only used for mission scripting. Lua is an industry standard scripting language used by many moddable games such as Half-Life2, Unreal Tournament 3, Crysis and Company of Heroes.

[/quote] Watch the "Blinding The Dragon" videos. He plays it like counterstrike...and the worst part: he is succesfull for so long. I won't even mention the "kill list" in the loading screens. Any word on a demo yet? I read something about it, but maybe I'm confusing it with Arma II.

Have you ever played Counter-Strike? You would not survive two seconds running around so carelessly in the open.
In "Blinding" he had the advantage of seeing the enemy in the night without being seen due to the thermal gunsight, so naturally the foes were quite helpless. You will play as a marine and a specops in the campaign I think, so not all missions will be like this and you'll likely face some better-equipped PLA SF too at some point. OFP/ArmA/Arma2 have an in-game scoreboard and kill stats at the end of a mission as well. If you have already set your mind about OFPDR being bad then simply ignore it. There will be a demo and it's planned to release before the full game.

Nice video. Without all the tags and bar graphs it might be nice to play coop.

Looks too much like a cod4... movement and all is so unrealistic
Would be nice to see some pics from PC version too.
If the enemy is in range, so are you.
