Other notable execs as well but I debrief last first...
Prince of Persia IV
(a lesser god)
Locate & link up with Major Namdar. Rescue & retrieve his backpack.
For some reason I got error as Zeus and my curator interface was running with skeleton adds/extra restrictions. I was not able to take control of units, spawn flares, or interactive intel. First would have given me a chance to intervene at one critical phase and possibly save Major N, and last two would have helped in latter part of the mission. As a result it was more of a spectating, but I had my fun as well. Mission is relatively fool-proof even without curator, and I was surprised how well AI worked despite my fears. In the end I did very little adjustements.
Here's how it started. Varanon was commading the rescue team and Outlawz/McGregor sniper team were to assist. Major Namdar (Variable) is all alone in ruined Kavala and special forces team regrouping at shore.
Special forces team moved to old supply post, and engaged enemy patrol guarding captured CSAT hardware. All well so far. Major Namdar was playing hide and seek with enemy patrols, and took cover in a tall office building and signaled his presence with smoke. At this point sniper team was just setting up, and they probably missed it.
Specops/sniper team were self sustaining organism and with a bit of a divine 155mm assistance, they managed to destroy the transformer, and thus creating a city-wide blackout. At the same time Major Namdar continued his trek on foot. He dodged admirably two VERY close encounters, and overcame enemy rifleman in one confrontation.
He ended up to two story building here, and evaded patrolling Namer IFV. All good so far. Nothing disastrous yet. However shortly after this he encountered enemies and the IFV, which left him bleeding.
Variable tried to crawl to further north, but at this time spec ops team was engaged by APC at the old command post which caused critical delay. Sniper/spotter team likely would have been able to see crawling major from their location, but they had hands full with overwatch/assistance to spec op team.
In the end gallant major's strenght faded. Spec ops team was not that far, but they had another epic encounter with the APC. I was genuinely surprised they survived. I tried to pull one of teams away to reward your efforts, but even a god couldn't do that once they got a fix of you. Sometimes at this time sniper duo got killed as well.
I placed different colours of chemlights to area where Namdar had fallen. I thought that 3-4 different circus coloured chem lights would be a suitable hint of 'I have been here'. I also put several coloured smokes but no one noticed them. We talked of this after mission and apparently people had missed them.
Spec ops team reached Southern Command post. I put a trail of red chemlights leading out of chapel, but it didn't help. I would have put interactive intel folder of 'Majors diary' with extra hints, but due error/limited curator settings, I wasn't able to. At this point enemies finally got too good fix, and hunter GMG/AAA duo turned the survivors to ketchup.
Great attempt people, especially Variable. It was lots of fun to watch you. You missed your backpack sooooo damn close. I won't spoil further, but there are couple of ways for Major to mark his trail, just in case. I likely fine tune his loadout a bit to help with this. I hope this will be replayed one day and that it didn't frustrate the crap out of you.
