I'm having a periodic problem in Arma 3 where I lose all sound in the game, and I have to exit the game, then re-start it to get the sound working again. It doesn't happen often, but it's really disrupting when it does happen.
This only happens in Arma 3, but that's also the only time I use my headphones (Plantronics GameCom 780). And the last time it happened, I was playing with you guys and using Teamspeak for the first time, and I also lost the ability to speak in Teamspeak (although I could still hear the other players, they couldn't hear me).
When this happens, I hear a sound in Windows (I'm using Windows 7) that's the same as when I turn my printer on or off (the "device connect" or "device disconnect" sound). However, nothing should be connecting or reconnecting then.
I leave my headphones plugged in all the time (although I make my speakers the default sound device when I'm not using the headphones), but this never happens any other time. I thought it was just a bug with Arma 3, but since it also affected Teamspeak - though in a weird way - maybe it's the headphones, instead?
Any suggestions? It's annoying to have to exit Arma 3 in the middle of a mission, even when I can just re-start it again. But if I can't stop this from happening, is there any other way I might get the sound back? (Note that the sound in Windows continues to work, with no problem.)
Thanks,
Bill
