This came up a few times before, I thought I'd post about it. If you wondered why sometimes grenades do little damage or don't seem to fly as far as you thought they would, you might have been confusing between these two.

From my experience CUP and RHS grenades seem to be based off the RGO grenade.
It's a real life thing.
