Hornet's Nest
Good leading by Varanon in this mission. I was the AT guy and ended up wondering why I was lugging the Carl Gustav around (I have real-life experience carrying that thing, it's heavy as shit ) Pretty action-packed mission, and a few times it could have swung around pretty much the other way, but in the end, good execution and we made it out without any losses.
Winter's Pack
Finally made the main goal on this mission. It was tough, but this time I purposely avoided any contact, and so we made it to the first grad undetected and Valhalian could plant a charge under the truck. I had thought that ten minutes would be enough to reach the second GRAD, and although it was close it came just in the right time to distract the enemy. Unfortunately, they had almost run over us before, and we had to engage. From there on out, it was constant firefights. We managed to rig the two remaining GRAD's and retreat to the shore. I kept everyone on the move at all time, and a few situations turned out to be quite hairy... I was really annoyed that we lost Val in the retreat, I was so happy that we hadn't lost anyone up to that point.
It was good we came across the Zodiac's on the pier; it wasn't that far away from our own boats, but then, I have no idea if they would have moved because, you know, PhysX FTW.
In any case, excellent job, good execution and the quality of leadership was only surpassed by the leader's rugged handsomeness.
Wraith Recon 5
Same ruggedly handsome leader, I decided this time to go on foot rather than try the truck. After the usual disappointment at the AAF Underground Facility, we cut across south-east towards the munitions check point. Unfortunately, I was careless and we were spotted from the Fuel depot. What ensued was a pretty hefty firefight. When we started to get engaged by a heavy machine gun (I suppose that was the Hunter), I decided to push forward with force into the checkpoint (it was still occupied but I figured our chances there where better). It wasn't a second too early, since by then a hitherto unnoticed Marshall started to engage. Unfortunately, it got Stag, and when Varanon was treating him the second salvo killed him. Freeman bandaged Varanon and we pushed into the compound.
At this point, I think that was the right decision.
We found explosives at the site, packed up with those and all the ammo we could find, and left the checkpoint to the south. I was planning on hitting the southern fuel points first since our extraction was in the north and that would make a shorter trip. Halfway towards the gas station we got under fire from a grenadier, so I ordered everyone back to the industrial compound we had just cleared, intendeing to go the other way and cross over the street. Something shot me, I don't remember what, but unfortunately at this point the mission ended for me.
Point Insertion
Stag was leading this one. After a few equipment problems in the beginning (Long range radio doesn't hold a lot of equipment) we made our way up over the ridge line towards Point Black. We got surprised by a small patrol on the way, and while we quickly dispatched of them, their fire was probably part of the reason we got jumped again when we reached the ridge, which cost us Varanon.
Stag ordered me and Alias to remain on the hillside (marksman and Automatic Rifleman). My job was to take out the heavy machine gun at the camp. When the assault team was spotted, I shot the HMG gunner but he managed to shoot a salvo in my direction still, which killed me. Moments later, though, the hillside and Alias were turned into a thing grey smudge by an incoming mortar round anyway. The assault team didn't last very long.
There wasn't really much resistance at the camp, so I am not entirely sure why this went do so fast. I guess part of it was that the mortars were manned. Losing the support team on the hillside definitely was a bad thing to happen.
Anyway good mission yesterday. One more thing: Mjolnir and Skarin, most of the time some member is on the Discord chat, so I would appreciate if you could poke the chat so that addon issues can be sorted out before the evening

I don't need luck, I have ammo.
