I agree, the confirmation should be given automatically, not requested. If you receive an order, especially if it's specifically aimed at you, just say "Copy" or "Copy, <repeat order>". That is standard radio protocol.
Alias, you've been ops leader yourself. You know how difficult it can be, while being a subordinate "just" requires you to comply. You don't expect the ops leader to keep track of all this while the subordinate has an easy job, do you ?
