CSI: OPFOR
I was having trouble with my radio, in fact, I kept having trouble with my radio each mission, which I am not entirely sure whether it is CBA or TFAR.
Not much to say about this mission, we had a pretty good overview position over the town and killed quite a few guys on the crossroad. Bravo cleared the town from the other side.
Angry Birds
I have no idea what got us here, I am suspecting the rocket artillery because I registered multiple explosions around us before the tank blew up.
I also noticed that we have serious issues in communication and general behavior in tanks. It seems like we should either avoid tank missions, or play more of them. I think I post this video every time we play a tank mission, so for tradition alone, please watch this:
I find this video crucial because it sets a language for communication within the vehicle.
Finder's Keeper
My favorite mission of the evening, even though it took a long time, but I think that this was partially caused by how we approached this mission.
What we should have done better (pardon me if this comes across as too harsh. I am a German, we always sound angry):
1. In the beginning, the simple task of getting into the vehicles was a complete and utter clusterfuck. Team leaders, please drive yourself, or appoint someone directly and make sure you are in the same vehicle. As it was, McGregor was in the driver seat and Alias just hopped onto the back, saying "my team get into my car". This is no good. The squad leader should say "My team takes the left car, Bravo take the other". No confusion, no problems, and we won'T take five minutes alone to get moving in the first place. I ended up being alone in a car because of this. Not well coordinated.
2. Mixing teams. I don't understand why we had both a scout team AND Charlie go to the same hill. It doesn't really make sense. If the point was getting eyes on the base (which we did, the position was well chosen), a three men team would have been way enough.
3. We should not have gone around the base on the south. What should have been done (IMO) was to send the scout team to the position we were on (which was good), get eyes on the base, and then decide how to move the APC based on this. Since we could ascertain that the targets were all in the northern part of the base, another scout team (Charlie for example, there was no point in sending them along with the scout team) could have scouted for an appropriate position north to northwest of the base, and make sure the APC could engage from there. Then, once the shit was destroyed, bug out towards the north west.
4. Check your targets. I know that Variable was Friendly fired. I also saw the team on the hill towards the end of the mission (by the abandoned Strider/APC) engage Alias and Den with machine gun fire. I suppose there was also some communication issue here, but there was way too much Friendly fire in the mission.
5. Please, if you are not comfortable fulfilling a certain task, like gunner in the APC, do not take it. If your team leader orders you to take it, make him aware of the fact and ask him to pick someone else.
Lost Squad x2
Great as usual. The first go was too easy, we were pretty lucky. The second one was plagued by disconnection issues, otherwise we would have made it, plus apparently someone couldn't read the map
Operation Red Tiger
I am still not particularly excited about the mission, I find it rather sloppy to just put a guy on every house position and say "here, attack this".
I think the idea of having the little bird drop us off in the valley was the right decision. I was just being a fucking moron on top of the hill, I should have ordered everyone behind the hill and only have the two AT guys engage the Tigris. In the end, we were successful in taking it out, but I got myself, TecK, Den and Doveman killed in the process. Oh well, lesson learned, I am sure next time I will do it the same again XD
Again, if you are not comfortable taking a specific role, don't do it. Point in case here was TecK 9 not knowing how to operate the AT. He learned it during the mission, which is fine, but if you do not know how to operate AT launchers, don't take the AT gunner slot. If that's the only one available on the role selection screen, ask if someone can switch places with you. There is no shame in doing that, you cannot know everything so it's fine to ask for someone else to take that slot. In any case, doveman and TecK 9 did a good job with the AT.
In any case, good games yesterday

I don't need luck, I have ammo.
