There was one, just that nobody took it.
Operation Foobar
From the very beginning, we have been showered with Sperm so at one point I injected some code into everyone's clients to keep the rain off (yeah I have this type of power mwhahahah... ahem). Night was pitch black, and we were short one NVG (Variable didn't have one) and no GPS or Radios. We had attachments and ammunition for gurns that we didn't have. Weird start.
Things went a bit sticky when we tried to get into the sub, since Yakir got hit but Unnamed revived him.
I think i got shot an insane amount of times, my impression was that the AI's skill levels were artificially ramped up for this mission because they rarely needed more than two shots to get me. Uncanny.
The rest was mostly dodging bullets and placing charges. At least our team didn't see much else than this. Pretty dramatic at times, but I was missing a bit of variety.
Still the mission was okay; definitely a good challenge, albeit I suspect it was made with respawn in mind.
Blackwater
No idea how it was for you. Zeusing was definitely fun, although for my next session I am going to pick something more interesting. I kept it very simple because I had to struggle with the controls. Still, most of it worked out as planned. The downtime between attacks was probably too long, and I wish Zeus would allow me to have my own groups setup, since the default groups define "Motorized Infantry" as "Dudes in Iffrits". There is no group that has a truck full of infantry, so in theory, I would have had to build those myself. Wish I could customize my Zeus interface more.
Death Zone
With me in command, at least you can always count on painful death. I suppose splitting the team wasn't a good idea, but I thought that attacking from two sides would split their attention.
One thing, though. If a teamleader tells a machinegunner to suppress, there are a few simple rules:
- Empty your mag. I mean it.
- It doesn't matter if you can see them or not. Suppression works without direct line of fire.
- Keep suppressing until your teamleader says otherwise.
I am not saying that the lack of suppression was responsible for my failure, but it certainly contributed. Since I played the AR in the second attempt, I know that the AR had around 1000 rounds with him.
Of course, on the second playthrough, we knew about the patrol that would sneak up on the support team, so the mines helped. When I played the machinegunner, I heard one of the mines go off and immediately started to engage them. There was a whole team of them, I think I killed some 8 or so guys coming up the hill.
Operation_Planceholder
A nice, short mission that put you right into the action. Not much to say about this one, it worked out fine, and I liked the setting.
I don't need luck, I have ammo.
