Great post MJ, it was a good read.
Crash Site Red
Heavy Machine Gunner, MJ's team
Our force made its way up the mountain. When I finally arrived, exhausted, to one of the few rocks, I deployed the Navid and provided suppression fire to allow the other teams to advance. Looked like it worked. We reached a structure that looks like the relay of the nearby comm tower and a fierce close range firefight ensued with the NATO team that guarded it. I didn't have a chance to switch to my pistol and took out an AT gunner, firing from the hip. We were in a great position to suppress the enemy reinforcements that were climbing from the other side of the mountain. I think we took out at least two teams worth of infantry. A Marid then attacked and we tried to take it out with a scavenged Spike launcher, but it was too fast and the field of view too obscured. While fighting for our lives we saw the destruction of the UAV, not knowing if we managed to secure its data core. We fought for a long period of time before our team was wiped out. That was a great run.
First Strike
RPG gunner, Sputnik's team
We were detected prematurely and had to fight our way up to the repair depot. And yet, the enemy failed to stop us from taking out two tanks, that was pleasing to see. Lovely mission, I think we have enough men to spare one or two teams to block off the reinforcements while the demolition squad works. Will be fun!
Castle Black
Infiltrator
The crown jewel of the night! My task was to place the VBIED truck by the ammo depot and make sure the explosion knocks down the castle walls. I drove slowly in, reporting my progress to the assault team by whisper. When the assault team signaled their readiness, I gave my last radio transmission to the assault team, left the radio in the truck, disembarked and strolled slowly to the back of the truck. I started the timer on the explosives and walked away. On my way in I spotted a black SUV by one of the barracks, looked like our banker friend, felt like a good way to put my cover to good use. I opened the door and saw a guy wearing a suit conversing with an officer while guarded by a scary looking Taki, looked like a specops soldier. I decided to wait. I closed the door behind me and planned my attack. The truck exploded. I took my concealed sidearm out of my vest and popped the specop guy from the window. Then, I busted the door open and pumped the banker, who drew a pistol himself, full of lead. The officer managed to fire back at me, but missed. I ducked below the barrier and took out one soldier who climbed down the stairs to see what's all the fuss is about. I zigged right of the barrier and took down the officer. As I took his AKS-U, another soldier came down the stairs, I shot him down as I managed to grab the AK. In the meantime, firefight ensued in the castle. My friends are here! I removed my baret as agreed and climbed up the stairs, to the roof of the barracks. I replaced the AK with a PKM and fired long bursts towards what I perceived pockets of resistance fighting my guerrilla friends, who were by now inside the perimeter. I waved my hands frantically, hoping I will not be friendly fired. Looks like we are winning! I yelled 'friendly' as the guerrillas closed by. A land-rover bursted through the entrance, and took out Alwarren. I missed it completely and felt shit. The next phase had us defending the castle from airborne troops and IFVs, supported by gunships. Command called us out when the enemy decided to level the castle with artillery barrages. At that point we were three left, and we escaped the castle.
That was one hell of a ride...
