[GUIDE] Know your insurgent - Printable Version

[GUIDE] Know your insurgent - Alwarren - 09-05-2016

Yesterday's "Mine Sweeper" clearly showed that identifying these guys is very hard (and that Yussuf's gun was fucking expensive). Here is a short identification guide for your local insurgency:

These are the bad guys:

By comparison, these are the good guys:

As you can see the bad guys wear mostly khet and partug, and usually have camo on their vests (if they wear any). The good guys wear less khets and mostly jeans, and their jackets usually don't have camo. It's hard to tell them apart, but that's I guess is a realistic situation.

Weapons: The bad guys usually use Lee Enfield, AK's and one or the other FN FAL, while the good guys also use Lee Enfields and AK's but also M16.

Behavior: The good guys don't usually shoot at you Smile

I don't remember having that much trouble to distinguish between the Takistani Locals and the Militia units. Was the change in their appearance on CUP intentional?

The appearance is new, the only thing I took over from the old ones are the hats and vests. Actually, the difference should be easier to tell now. The old ones used the exact same models for both sides and just used different textures. The new ones use three different models (Long Khet, Short Khet and Jeans) with different textures, and the Jeans model is only used for the Taki Locals, so there is actually more visual difference between them.

I found distinguishing insurgents and locals easier on CUP. Insurgents = fuck infidels (don't even want to wear their clothes). Locals wear jeans because got to wear something that doesn't flop around in the wind all the time :o (jokes aside).

It was an M16/M203, but I am sure Yussuf wouldn't mind an M240 either Smile
