Kindle 7 Questions - Phantom - 09-22-2015

Just wondering if any of you guys here got a kindle. I finally decide to invest in one since I feel like reading stuff on the computer screen too much is a pain for the eyes and I can't sit or lay down somewhere more convenient on a desktop all the time so what are you guys thoughts on Kindle 2014 one?

Just curious if I can take notes or write some scratch notes on it too?

Have you ever thought about just getting an Android Tablet ? Kindle is available as an Android app, and Google Books as well, and you can usually do more with a tablet (like, reading the CiA forum via Tapatalk) ?

Since phantom says that reading stuff on a pc screen is painfull for the eyes (I absolutely agree with that) I would not do that, reading on a tablet or a smartphone is okay with white text on black background, but its far from being as comfortable as the E-Ink display of the Kindle.

I dont know the newer Kindles too well as i still have the old kindle with keyboard (and i'll keep that until it dies, i prefer a amall keyboard over a touchscreen) and I absolutely love it. I think there are possibilities for taking notes, probably there are, you can even put another OS on it  (never did that though....well not yet xD). If you do some googling you will probably find something on it.

I find reading on a PC screen uncomfortable as well, but with my tablet, I just dim the background light, and it works perfectly fine, I can read for hours without problem.

I assume if I got graphic PDFs with pictures and stuff, would it be a pain with an e-reader kindle to read since i heard its just black and white.
